DevSecOps Engineer
Overview: As part of the USAF LOGFAC effort, our goal is to ensure the continuous operational functionality of the system while improving its performance to meet the evolving needs of end-users. The effort focuses on maintaining system continuity, aligning product teams with system requirements, and fostering collaboration across various disciplines, including user story development, needs analysis, design coordination, and software development. The team will also work on integrating Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts to ensure security and compliance, while performing critical tasks such as code and unit testing, database and system administration, integration testing, and implementation.
In adherence to agile principles, this development effort emphasizes iterative progress, comprehensive documentation, user-centered design, and creating a flexible infrastructure that supports scalability. The team will collaborate to deliver high-quality software solutions that are both adaptable and aligned with the USAF’s strategic objectives, ensuring that the system remains reliable, secure, and capable of meeting the needs of its users now and in the future. This effort supports continuous improvement and ongoing system sustainment, while upholding the highest standards of excellence and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for integrating development and operations to ensure continuous delivery, automation, and security throughout the software lifecycle. This role involves creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure provisioning, and deploying software updates efficiently while ensuring security is embedded at every stage. Works closely with development, QA, and system administration teams to streamline processes, enhance system performance, and ensure high availability. Additionally, responsible for implementing security practices in the development pipeline, conducting vulnerability assessments, and managing configurations to protect systems against security risks while maintaining operational excellence.
Required Experience in years:
- 4-5 years minimum
- Minimum Education: BS or four (4) additional years of related experience.
- One of the following:
- Certified DevOps Engineer (AWS)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate / Professional
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
- Additionally:
- CompTIA Security+
- Experience working in Agile Scrum Environment
- Experience with AWS GovCloud
- Experience with USAF CloudOne
